“All of us like sheep have gone astray.”
That is how the Bible describes us – like sheep who go their own way. When sheep go their own way, they separate themselves from their protecting and wise shepherd. And though it may seem to them to be a pleasing way, they end up in hurtful and dangerous places. We, indeed, are like sheep. We run from the Heavenly Shepherd, go our own way, and our souls end up in deep trouble.
Have you been running from the Heavenly Shepherd? Are you going your own way? Listen to Jesus’ words when He says: “I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd gives his life for the sheep.” (John 10:10-12) and then seek and stay close to this loving Shepherd who gives his life for His sheep.
The Good News
God sent his own son, Jesus Christ, to pay the penalty for sin and to save those who repent. “The Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.”(Isaiah 53:6) When you cry out to God for His saving mercy through His Son, Jesus Christ, He gives you a new, redeemed life through His Holy Spirit. He also then gives you grace to begin to live for Him in all things.
“Seek the Lord while he may be found, call upon him while he is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.”(Isaiah 55: 5-7)
We would love to discuss God’s Word with you and help you to see how it applies to our life.
